Bernard Baruch: The Adventures of a Wall Street Legend (Trailblazers, Rediscovering the Pioneers of Business), By James Grant. John Wiley, 1997. A wonderful and inspiring story of an investor who went on to serve his country.

The House of Morgan: An American Banking Dynasty and the Rise of Modern Finance, Simon and Schuster, 1991. This is an exceptionally good book. Well-written, detailed and full of lessons for anyone with an interest in financing and investment banking.
